Reasons to Lose Challenge is a Treasure

Did any of you do the Reasons to Lose challenges?
I did one of the two :-)

I drank tons of water every day, at least half my body weight in oz. And even though I hate the taste of water, I feel really good when I drink a lot.
I did have an advantage to this challenge, because Husband and I had started making sure we were drinking enough water a few months ago, so my body was already used to it. But, I still did it!

As for the heart-rate up for 30 min a day... yeah, not so much. I worked out 3 days this week, I'm doing it every-other day. And while I was going to try for every day I didn't on Tuesday... my muscles were too sore, so I just stuck with every-other day.

I feel good though, and I'm very excited about next weeks challenges! Especially the self-esteem one. It will be posted tomorrow morning here
And, we'll have a linky party next Saturday for everyone who wants to participate to link up how the challenges went for them :-)

Even if you guys don't do the physical challenge, I think everyone could benefit from doing the Self-Esteem challenge. So please check it out tomorrow!
You won't regret it :-)

Did anyone participate in last weeks challenges? I'd love to hear about it!

ps. I should get a copy of the Poison Ivy pictures in the next few days!

Walmart is not a Treasure...

One of my best friends loves photography, and doing photo shoots. Tonight I am being Poison Ivy in her "Batman Villains" photo shoot. And I'm kind of excited.
Don't worry, I'll post pictures when I get them :-) My costume is pretty awesome! Our friend Edi made mine, and the Harley Quinn costume.

Well, while this photo shoot will be awesome, it is kind of last minute. I'm especially impressed with Edi being able to make these costumes in 2-3 days!

So, last night Bryn, her husband and I went to Walmart to get some more supplies.
I need some of the temporary hair dye so that my hair can be more bright red like Poison Ivy.

We went to the hair dye isle but found nothing. I found a worker and this is how our conversation went:
Imagine the most annoyed voice you have ever heard, now multiply that by about 3 and that was how she sounded

Me: Excuse me?
Worker: What?
Me: Um... I was just wondering if you still sell temporary hair dye-
Worker: I don't know. You'll have to look in the isle or ask someone else.
Me: oh... ok. But could you-
Worker: You'll have to ask someone else

Awesome. So, I asked someone else.

Me: Excuse me?
Worker:.... (just looks at me)...
Me: I was wondering if you have any temporary hair dye? I can't find it in the isle
Worker: You'll have to look in the isle. I don't know.

Next time, I'm going to Target, Their workers always go out of their way to help me, and are a lot more friendly.

Reasons to Lose Challenge

Thank you everyone who has linked up to my first Small Treasure Tuesdays! I love reading your posts :-)
The linky will stay open until midnight on Thursday, so there's still time if you want to link up. Or, you can always wait til next Tuesday!

I apologize for not telling you the Reasons to Lose challenge this week on Monday.
But, you can still try to participate :-)

Our challenges this week are to get your heart-rate up for 30 min a day, and to stay hydrated.
Here is a post I wrote about the reasons it is so important to stay hydrated.

I haven't been doing the 30 min. everyday, however I have been staying hydrated and drinking lots of water!
Let me know if you guys do the challenge too! The next one will be posted Sunday, I'll let you know what it is Monday :-)

Small Treasure Tuesdays

I really enjoy telling you all about the treasures in my life, and I would love to hear some of your treasures too.
So I decided to start Small Treasure Tuesdays!

It's so important to remember and appreciate the little, and big, things that make life beautiful. I'm hoping that by writing about our Small Treasures, we'll be able to help ourselves, and others, focus on all the good.

You can tell us about some of the small (or big) treasures in your life; little blessings, things/people that you're grateful for -that sort of thing

It doesn't have to be long, it can be as simple as linking up a picture or a quote. I don't want anyone feeling overwhelmed by this :-)

I'm excited to learn about your treasures!

1) Make sure you link directly to the page your Small Treasure Tuesdays post is on, not your main blog page.
If you don't have a blog, you can still participate and leave your treasure in a comment.

2) Please link back here so other people can join in on the fun! A good way to do that is by grabbing my button :-)

3) Visit as many people as you want/can. All I ask is that you please visit the person above you in the list, and leave a comment. Everyone loves to know what you think of their treasures!

This is a treasure I'm appreciating today:

A friend of mine took this picture at a museum in London, England.
It is a Treasure

Exercising is a Treasure

My sister Amber had an awesome idea to start a weight loss blog, and I am super excited about it!

My sisters Amber and Helena, as well as my sister-in-law Annie, and our friend Katie have all joined together to encourage, motivate and support each other.

So, the idea is that we have 3 months, and only 1 winner. At the end of 3 months, who ever has lost the most Body Mass (that way everyone has a chance) wins an $80 gift card to wherever they want! Pretty exciting.

Each of us will be posting at least once a week to keep each other, and you, updated on what we are, and aren't doing. It's in the beginning stages, but I'm sure you guys will enjoy this ride with us! And maybe even get some helpful tips along the way :-)

You know you want to check it out! It's called Reasons to Lose, because we all have different reasons for losing weight and living healthier.

We'll also have weekly challenges, and self-esteem exercises. And even though you aren't part of Reasons to Lose, I would still love if you guys participated! You could leave me a comment telling me about your experience, or link up your own post about it. I think we can all benefit from doing these challenges :-)

Have a good day!

Utah is a Treasure

(This picture was taken by yours truly)

Even though it took some getting used to, living in a desert really can be very beautiful.

A Dinosaur on State Street is a Treasure

What do you think of the new look?
I love it!
I would definitely recommend Kim to anyone and everyone! I don't know how she does it, but she was able to match my personality and style with only a few emails! She is so nice, and easy to work with, and incredibly fast. That girl has mad skill.
(This opinion is entirely my own, I was not asked to write any of this)

Here's a story for you all:

So the other day, Michael and I were driving back to work from our lunch break.
We we're waiting at a light to turn left onto State Street.

Michael was staring blankly into space, and I was just idly watching traffic.
When all of the sudden a big truck with a flat back, like this one, drove by. On the back of the truck was four guys holding a giant head of a Triceratops.

Yeah, you read that correctly.

Basically, it looked just like this one
Only it was huge, and looked very realistic. So, you know, a little less fake and happy looking.

I'm not sure why, or how... but it was there.
And it made my day.

Michael completely missed it, but I sure am glad I saw it.

What was an unexpected treasure in your life?
